Welcome to the Sharif Network Security Center

"Securing a computer system has traditionally been a battle of wits: the penetrator tries to find the holes, and the designer tries to close them." — M. Gosser

Welcome to the Sharif Network Security Center (SharifNSC) in the department of Computer Science and Engineering at Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran. SharifNSC develops advanced security technologies for critical components of the modern computing infrastructure. Our researchers consider security problems at all levels of systems design, from theoretical cryptography to physical hardware. Our research has been published in top academic venues in security, networking, operating systems, software engineering, and cryptography, as well as featured in many outlets in popular press.
SharifNSC was founded in 1999, with the aim of conducting research in cutting-edge security domains and incorporation of academic knowledge into industry. During this period, SharifNSC has been home to more than 100 MSc. and Ph.D. students, and publication of more than 150 papers in highly-recognized international conferences and journals reveals its immense original contribution to the field of security. Furthermore, with the cooperation of SharifCERT, SharifNSC have been actively involved in many industrial projects, yielding it a valuable experience in both academia and industry. Currently, SharifNSC is co-directed by Dr. Jalili, and Dr. Kharrazi, two distinguished faculty of Sharif University of Technology.
